Excellent accommodation in very high quality and maintained large resort with good facilities. Use of facilities that don't form part of the basic package like tennis is quite expensive as are snacks and drinks.

Fresh air, fine food, fair weather & fantastic views

Design holidays provided a smooth booking process with detailed information on what to expect in resort and the best prices we could find. Pine cliffs townhouses offer spacious, home from home, self catering accommodation with hotel services such as daily cleaning and a plethora of high quality restaurants to choose from if you don't want to cook. The town houses have their own terraces and BBQs and are set in lush green landscaping. We enjoyed the tennis courts, golf course, swimming pools and spectacular beach. We had an excellent introduction to golf from one of the resident pros. Be aware that charges do apply for extras such as use of the tennis courts and crazy golf and even for in-room wifi. Although there were many families with babies, we think that the resort is better for older children as the path to the beach is quite long and has steps so buggies have to be left behind. Expect to get a fair amount of exercise walking around this large resort. The sea is quite chilly and the waves can be enormous. Fantastic if you are feeling energetic.

Niky at Design Holidays helped us booked an amazing stay at the Pine Cliffs Resort in the Algarve. She secured us a cheaper price than booking direct and at check in we were upgraded to a 3-bed penthouse. In addition there was a free transfer from the airport and golf included in the package worth an extra 500+
We could not have been more delighted with the service from Design Holidays and the weather was perfect too!

8 days at Pine Cliffs Resort

This was our third visit to this Resort so clearly we loved it enough to visit again. We really enjoy the independence of having a 2 bedroom golf suite which is convenient for playing and is near a heated swimming pool. However on this occasion, on arrival we were not greeted at Reception and after a tiring journey were just left waiting whilst Reception staff dealt with phone calls. No smile of welcome back (we are Starwood card holders). Not a good start. Our golf suite was lovely and identical to the previous one we had stayed in. We were told that the O Grill was shut so we needed to take breakfast at the hotel until it reopened. Food at the Golf club and the Corda Cafe was very good as usual. something to mention however is that we really struggled sleeping due to very hard beds. The Resort should look to replace the mattresses if possible as it would be a deterrent to re-booking. Also customer service very poor on the checking out morning when despite being told to ring for a car to pick us up and our luggage they left us waiting for half an hour so I had to walk up to the hotel and ask them again (a 10 minute walk from our building).

The apartment was well equipped, clean and spacious. With a daily maid service, and close to the tennis courts and hotel and restaurants.
We were on a first floor level so the balcony was shaded from above, if you prefer more chance to have the sun then a ground floor apartment is better suited.
The resort was lovely, and we would definitely return again!

Fantastic resort for all the family in stunning cliff top location. The terraces are lovely, modern style in quieter part of resort with own quiet pool area. Staff friendly & service superb nothing is too much trouble for them. Wide variety of activities to suit all ages. Restaurants variety is good. Although resort was full there was never a problem with finding sunbeds, or tables at restaurants. It is an expensive holiday but definitely worth every penny for a relaxing enjoyable week for the whole family .

Townhouse is not a 5 stars just basic

The townhouse was not what we expected. We had so many issues from the apartment that we had to complain to reception. Our lounge light didn't work, one of the bath tub was blocked, one of the curtains was falling off, the cooker hub gave up, one tv didnt have a remote.... The house cleaning staff was great and really friendly and did an amazing job every day. The problems got fixed the following day which was great. The room service menu was very pricey and not worth it too as it was very basic. We ordered 4 burgers, 2 spag bolognese and 3 peri chicken and our bill was 165. The playground for the kids was awesome!! Just disappointed that there was no indoor pool for them. Perfect location for resort.

Excellent holiday location, great for kids very family friendly and high end. This year some of the smaller things were missed and we had to ask a few times but the house is tip top quality (couple of minor niggles a bit of tlc could fix). Not huge range of restaurants on site but enough and room service option, alongside self catering high end kitchen is perfect for us and hard to find. Room service menu is fairly limited but quite good. Overall we have come here three times and think its great but we rate it an excellent 4 star if you compare it to UK or French 5* hotels. The property is huge with many accommodations for them to look after some owned by the hotel and some privately and rented so it would be a hard task to expect more than they can manage- which is still excellent even for our high standards
