The Costa del Sol is like a huge geographical arc extending all the way from Nerja to the west coast of Cadiz. With its large, wonderful coastline and lovely climate, the area has met the growing demands of tourism with sport and leisure developments, many golf courses and everything necessary to host such events as conventions and conferences. The interior, too, is not without its interest, and a network of roads can lead visitors to typical white villages and arid Andalusian mountains. Marbella is a delightful Andalusian town where you can still find little cobbled streets and whitewashed houses with geraniums outside. At the foot of the "Concha" and sheltered by its distinctive mountain features which give it the mildest climate in Europe, this welcoming and cosmopolitan centre has successfully adapted to the growing demands of tourism. A few kilometres away lies Puerto Banús, playground to the international jet set and renowned throughout the world for its nightlife.

CLIMATE

With 320 days of sunshine per year and an average temperature of 21 degrees centigrade, the Costa del Sol is the ideal place to have a great holiday. The mild winter temperatures and the heat of summer make this the favourite destination of most European tourists. The Costa del Sol weather is exactly what you would expect from the name "Sunny Coast", sun, sun and more sun. It is one of the best, most reliable and healthiest climates in the world. In the winter months the climate is temperate with average daytime temperatures of about 16ºC. There can be some rainy days during this period but when tends to vary from year to year and it seldom lasts more than a few days. It is a perfect climate during these months for playing golf. At the height of the summer in July and August the daytime temperatures reach about 30ºC and there is no rain - perhaps there may be one or two summer storms but nothing that will last too long.
