4th October – Changes to the Traffic Light system, no expensive PCR testing whilst away on holiday, things are looking up!

Finally, from the 4th October it looks like travel will be made easier and cheaper for travellers in England (we are still waiting for Wales, Scotland and NI to announce their plans). The Amber and Green ‘traffic light’ system is to be replaced by a ‘red’ list and expensive PCR testing which not only hurts your pockets, causes undue holiday stress and cuts into precious holiday time is to be scrapped for returning to the UK (only for the double vaccinated) as far as we know the day 2 testing on return is to stay but we are still waiting for clarification if the cheaper Lateral flow test is acceptable instead of the costly PCR.
